"After a few eeks, Whitehead's brother, who was then in the West, forwarded him funds to start anew. He rigged up a lathe and other machinery in a cabin in the rear of his home and a gasoline engine for power. John Whitehead then came to this city and is now here. The brothers are working to gether and are confident of participating in the contest for the $100,000 prize offered by the Louisiana Purchase Exhibition for the best dirgable balloon, airship of flying machine."
